A doitandhow original
I found these cute silver cowbells at the craft store and knew I wanted to make dangling earrings with them. I’ve also been wanting to try some more advanced braiding/knotting/macrame techniques. So I made these!

To make your own, you’ll need:
- black cording
- piece of cardboard to work on
- pins (to keep your cords in check as you braid them)
- 2 15x15mm silver cowbells (or any other lightweight hanging bauble)
- earrings
- clear nail polish
First, using the chart below, follow and complete steps 1-4 for the braid with the black cording. I find it best to work on a piece of cardboard using the pins to hold the cord as I go. (Note: It took me about 10 minutes after I had it braided to gently tighten it up to my desired size. I didn’t continue the steps after 4; but feel free to do more layers as in chart)
Once braided – using the bottom loose ends string on the cowbell, putting both ends through opposite sides, tie off. Then cut excess cording off and dab on a drop of clear polish on the cut ends to keep them from unraveling.
Add your earring. Now, repeat for the other side!
Thanks for reading – I hope you enjoy making these… or this post inspires you to be creative in some way!
